Matthew Gillis is the principal of G I L L I S, a Los Angeles based architecture and interiors design studio. His work integrates ecological research, digital design, and architectural fabrication to create sensually dense environments and experiences. Recent projects include residential additions in Hollywood and Culver City, an exhibition at A+D Museum, and the research /development of a sustainable ceramic façade system. Matthew holds a Master of Architecture degree from UCLA and attended the Vicenza Institute of Architecture in Italy while receiving his Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida. Prior to forming G I L L I S, Matthew worked in the offices of Coop Himmel(b)lau (Guadalajara) and Griffin Enright Architects (Los Angeles) on multiple award winning design projects and buildings. In addition to his professional practice, Matthew teaches design studios and visual studies seminars at SCI-Arc, OTIS College of Design and Woodbury University.
