The Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design is pleased to present ForumFest IV, a benefit evening of toasts, roasts and libations to honor Thom Mayne, one of the world’s most innovative and dynamic architects and recipient of the 2005 Pritzker Prize.

Thursday, May 4, 2006
7 to 10PM
Petersen Automotive Museum, Los Angeles
festive attire

Thom Mayne founded Morphosis in 1972 to develop an architecture that goes beyond the bounds of traditional forms and materials; a critical practice that engages contemporary discourse through architectural design and writing. As the firm has grown steadily to more than forty architects and designers, he remains committed to the practice of architecture as a collective enterprise.  With projects worldwide, Mayne’s work ranges from designs for watches and teapots, to large=scale civic buildings, innovative academic buildings, and urban design and planning schemes.  He co-founded the Southern California Institute of Architecture, has taught at Columbia, Harvard, Yale, and is currently a tenured professor at UCLA.  Morphosis has been the subject of publications and exhibitions throughout the world, including a solo exhibition at the Centre Pompidou that opened in March 2006.  Mayne’s distinguished honors include the Rome Prize Fellowship in 1987 and the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2005.
