There are imaginary lines drawn between all things — between art forms and media, between mark and erasure, between the dimensions, between past and future, between space and time, between the micro and the macro, between mind and body, oneself and other, thought and feeling, and on and on. It is in straddling the thresholds that transubstantiation becomes possible: one eye cast in each direction, each seeing an alternate reality, the two images superimposed and vibrating in the imagination. It is this ambiguity that allows for the richness of association that interests me the most.
