EVENT: En Plein Air in El Segundo
An Incendiary Traces event organized by artist Hillary Mushkin
The first phase of Incendiary Traces is a project for the LA Forum for Architecture and Urban Design online gallery, here.
Co-organized with Robby Herbst in conjunction with Llano Del Rio’s new Guide to L.A.’s Assholes.
An outdoor “drawing” salon of the war contractors by the beach, with poets Diane Ward and Jane Sprague reading.
Consider drawing metaphorically here — it could include many forms of tracing the landscape, from walking to as-built architectural drawing to watercolor painting.
Sat. Dec. 10th, 11am to 1PM
496 N. Douglas St. betw. Mariposa Ave. and El Segundo Blvd. in El Segundo, CA 90245
(Nearest public street parking is on Coral Circle, south of El Segundo Blvd.)
Bring a beach chair or something else to sit on. We’ll have some drawing supplies on hand.
Free and open to the public.
In case of rain on Dec. 10, we will do it on Dec. 11, same time and place.
This event is part of Incendiary Traces, a new community-generated archive (in development) linking Los Angeles’s subtropical environment and subtropical foreign conflict via metaphorical and literal forms of tracing. Art created during this event may become part of the Incendiary Traces archive.
