The Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design is pleased to announce Frank Conversations, a series of candid, unscripted discussions with the important voices that shape the culture of architecture and urban design in Los Angeles and beyond.
Conceived as a rolling caravan of ideas, Frank Conversations invites a rotating cast of architects, critics, scholars, patrons, curators, planners, journalists, and others to venues across the city, inciting lively debate and open dialogue between the myriad constituencies that form and inform the design culture of Los Angeles. Our aim is not to advance a single position, but rather to take the pulse of contemporary design discourse, to identify, investigate, and interrogate the array of ideas and individuals that make architecture in Los Angeles matter.
In our inaugural event, Sylvia Lavin, Professor of Architecture at UCLA, and Jeffrey Kipnis, Professor of Architecture at The Ohio State University, will appear at Pop-Up Storefront LA on Tuesday, April 15th at 7:00pm to discuss the changing role of the critic in contemporary discourse.
Pop-Up Storefront LA is located at:
7176 Sunset Blvd. (2 blocks west of La Brea, corner of Formosa)
Los Angeles, CA 90046
cost is $10 for non-members
