Andrew Zago is an architect and educator. He is principal of Zago Architecture in Detroit and Los Angeles and is currently design faculty and visual studies coordinator at the Southern California Institute of Architecture. From 2003 to 2007, he was founding Director of the Master Program in Architecture at the City College of New York. Mr. Zago studied painting at the University of Michigan and architecture at Harvard University. He was a founding partner of AKS RUNO in Los Angeles with Bahram Shirdel and later, with Jeffrey Kipnis, Shirdel Zago Kipnis. He has taught at Cornell University, the Ohio State University, the University of Michigan, and UCLA. Mr. Zago is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome and a member of the National Register of Peer Professionals of the General Services Administration in Washington. He is a recipient of an Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and a Fellowship Grant from the United States Artists organization.
