On Thursday, February 23rd, 6-9pm, the LA Forum will host a Book Launch and panel discussion with Marcelo Spina and Georgina Huljich of architectural practice PATTERNS at the Vitra Showroom in Culver City.  EMBEDDED documents the work and research of PATTERNS, the award-winning practice founded in Los Angeles in 1999, and includes essays by Spina and Huljich, Todd Gannon, and Marcelyn Gow.  Panelists for the discussion include Marcelo Spina, Georgina Huljich, Marcelyn Gow, Michael Osman, and Todd Gannon. This newly-released book is NOT easily available through (listed as ‘out-of-print’).

The research and collaborative based approach of the practice seeks to move between digital and material expressions. PATTERNS describes its form-making as driven by digital techniques and advanced computation. In addition to their research, projects include Prism Contemporary Art in West Hollywood; FYF Residence and Jujuy Redux, both in Rosario (Argentina); the Fluid Core Yard in Chengdu, the Skopje Concert Hall in Macedonia, and the Vestbanen KulturAtrium in Oslo.
