History of Competitions
The LA Forum has hosted several ideas competitions challenging the design community to address issues ranging from typological studies such as the re-consideration of the abandoned ‘dead’ mall and the quintessential Southern Californian ‘Dingbat’ apartment building, to small-scale urban elements (public restrooms, street-light posts, etc.) to bolster Los Angeles’ infrastructural needs, as well as a ‘real-world’ competition to create a ‘Liner’ for the Forum’s gallery/lecture* space in Hollywood.
